I AM Having thesaje problems with them i didn’t know they put a lien on my house. Inherited an aweful 120 month contract on a hot water tank worth hundreds, ends up costing thousands. Finally an appointment tonight, but he never showed. Maxium financial is their partner and the staff there are useless and just take your money and run. Recently, Ontario Consumers Home Services representative visited our home and replaced the water heater with a high energy efficient one at FREE of cost. I found their work from beginning to the end extremely satisfactory. They were very professional and knew what they were doing.

This company came to our home and claimed they worked with Embridge. They checked our water heater and claimed to charge us 2 dollars more a month for saving water energy. After 11 days they called us and reported that we have to pay them 2000 to ... If you don’t receive a written contract, or the contract you receive doesn’t include required information about the products or services, you can cancel the contract within one year from the day you entered into it. You can also cancel the agreement within one year if the business who you’ve signed your contract with has made a false or misleading statement about the contract.

Honestly, I don't want them coming into our house and messing with anything. If you are reading this on your phone, tablet, or on a computer, and any personnel from Ontario Consumers is in your home right now -- kick them out immediately. I apologize for the lack/delay of response, as my only intention on redflagdeals' forums was to inform everyone about this unethical company. I contacted them and an e-mail came back to me that an appointment was set for Apr 12/22 to do a phone assessment. File a complaint with the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services if you think the company has broken the law in the Consumer Protection Act. Service Alberta’s Consumer Investigations Unit ordered Canadian Home Improvement Credit Corporation to stop direct selling until an appropriate business licence had been obtained.

Every year they increase the price of rental equipment and from what we were told , contracts of 15 years are not legal. I cannot make it any more clear that this is a huge mistake. Unless you live in a region with harsh water then you do not need a water softener. My parents were convinced into renting this for $38/ per month on a 120 month contract. Two people came to there door and insisted them on needed this water softener and my parents invited them inside. They did not explain how long the contract will be and what the penalties were.

In the proposed class action settlement, Ontario Energy Group and Home Trust Company have also agreed to clarify the termination terms of their contract and improve their lien and security registration practices. They won't pay you for 3 weeks and you will only be paid for your first week on the first paycheck so in the end they always have about 2 weeks pay that they withhold from you. Once you leave the company there will be no pay for you and they will tell you that they withhold pay for 90 days because of some company policy. This is something they just make up not to pay you because there was no mention of something like that in the contract you sign with them.
